1989. Bricolage. 10 x 9 x 9″. Private Collection.
Box built of stacked 8” stretcher bars covered with lead lined with altered mirrors, holding small bottle of cadmium red paint.Includes found hardware, wax, and string. Glows red when under light. (Made in reaction to an attempt to ban the use of cadmium and lead as artist materials.)A male critic interpreted it as preservation of menstrual blood – something that would only happen to woman artist.  I dropped my first name after that.
